Deep in the woods, where no man dares tread in an oak tree older than bread lays a creature dark and tall.
Chapter 1
“Go to bed dev.” his mother spoke. “Fine but I don't wanna >:(.“ devean responded. “Bed… now” she spoke sternly. “FIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEE”. He said walking up to his room. He jumped onto his bed got under the covers pulled out his ds and got comfy “GOODNIGHT MOM” he yelled, no response. Makes sense, nobody can hear me from up here he thought to himself. Closing his eyes. “Where am I.” Dev thought. It was dark and there was a putrid odor that filled the area along with a sense of dread, when his eyes adjusted he saw that he was in a forest. Suddenly two stark white orbs appeared, it was almost as if they glowed in the heavily contrasting dark landscape. It appeared as if they were growing larger as that same horrific odor became clearer and clearer, the orbs blinked.
Chapter 2
Devean opened his eyes, it was a dream. He sighed relieved the dream from the night before, still fresh in his mind. Suddenly he got a chill, there was a breeze. He looked at the window that had faced his room for years as his eyes focused off of the glass of the window and onto the landscape below. Devean had lived in this suburban area for his entire life, he made friends he lost friends. It was a 2-minute bike ride to his neighbor's houses they were spaced apart. Devean looked at the woods across from his neighborhood many kids had gone missing in those woods. He felt the same dread he felt in his dream, a horrifying bleak sense of dread. And then he noticed the window…. It was open he went closer to the window; the dread became stronger. WHAM, “EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK” Devan screamed sounding like a 3-year-old girl. “Devean are you ok” the voice of his mother spoke taken aback. “Oh, Mom you scared the crap out of me.” Devean said “I came in here to tell you good morning,” it said. “Good *yawn* morning Mom,” he said tiredly. “Well come down stairs I made breakfast,” it said. As Devean walked out of the room he heard somebody coming up the stairs, but his mom was right in front of him.
Chapter 3
Almost to the steps Devan suddenly collapsed he Couldent move he was way too tired. Then From 14 steps down he heard his mother “DEVEAN COME DOWNSTAIRS BREAKFAST IS READY,” she yelled. As he looked up the thing he thought to be his mother started to distort. The silhouette of some half-human half-deer creature was the last thing he saw before completely blacking out.
As his vision refocused he was in the woods again., this time he could move he was petrified it was dark and frigid the marshy earth stuck to his feet. He began to run as fast as he could. His eyes began to adjust, and the more he ran the worse he felt, it was almost as if his stomach was about to jump out of his mouth. The forest was a never-ending labyrinth of trees the only noise he could hear was his breathing. Since the ground was marsh he could not run fast. He wasn't even able to scream.
And then he saw it a disgusting rotting decaying corpse of one of his friends that had gone missing. Devean through up in his mouth, it was so horrible to see them like this so he ran. Until he came across another corpse of his friend and another then another, it was all the kids who had gone missing mangled and decayed. So he kept running he ran and ran and ran in this never-ending nightmare realm. Eraccccercrrrcrceerrcr the smell was back.
Chapter 4
He saw it. It had no skin it walked like a dog but something was wrong about its skeletal structure its back legs were shorter than its arms. The creature stood and tilted its head, “what's wrong hunny?” that thing spoke imitating his mother but the voice was…. distorted. It crept closer “You haven't slept in days, maybe you should go to sleep,” it said still in his mother's voice. He opened his eyes.
Chapter 5
He had never ran in the woods, it was all a trick. He still couldn't move there was the creature that skinless creature. A cavity in its chest opened up and it got close to Devean, and then.
